👶 Are children allowed on your tours?
- City walking tours
Children are welcome on most private walking tours (for example in Bordeaux, Colmar, Strasbourg, Marseille or Paris). For shared walking tours, please check the age information on the tour page or ask our team. - Private day trips & sightseeing tours
Private tours by car or minivan are generally well suited to families. Your driver‑guide can adapt stops and pacing to your children’s age, energy and interests.
- Shared small‑group tours
Some shared tours accept children, others are designed mainly for adults. Please always check the “Good to know” section or contact us before booking. - Wine tours
- Shared small‑group wine tours are designed for adults and usually do not accept children.
- Children can join private wine tours when accompanied by adults. We adapt the itinerary with more villages, scenery and shorter visits; minors do not take part in tastings.
- Shore excursions
Many private shore excursions are family‑friendly (for example city highlights, villages, markets or easy walks). Some shore tours, especially those focused on wine or intense walking, are better for older kids and teens.
🌟 Best types of tours for familiesFrom experience, these formats tend to work best with children:
- Private walking tours in historic cities
Shorter private walks (2–3 hours) in places like Bordeaux, Colmar, Strasbourg, Sarlat or Marseille are ideal. Your guide can adapt stories and pace to keep kids engaged. - Private day trips with varied stops
Family‑friendly itineraries usually mix different elements: villages, viewpoints, short walks, maybe a castle or museum, and time for ice cream or a snack break. - Light, discovery‑style wine itineraries
For families with older children or teens, we recommend private tours that combine one winery with villages, viewpoints and cultural stops rather than a full day focused only on tastings. - Cultural and history‑focused shore excursions
Many families enjoy D‑Day sites (for older children), Provence villages, coastal towns and city highlights. We typically recommend limiting total touring time and including free time for lunch or a playground stop.
⏱️ Tips for choosing a tour with kids
- Favour shorter tours (2–4 hours) or full days with regular breaks
- Choose private tours when you want maximum flexibility for naps, snacks and last‑minute changes
- Let us know about strollers, baby seats or mobility issues so we can plan accordingly
- In warm months, avoid long outdoor visits at midday and plan some shade or indoor time
